Holy goban

Holy goban, my first attempt at creating a go game board, drilling holes

A few years ago, I went on creating heavy playing boards for the go game, actually made half a dozen of them.

In a previous post, I describe how I took large chunk of wood, turned them in thick boards and made custom tools to draw the grid, ie lines & hoshis.

My first experiments were a little more hackish, since go stones were not easy to find, I used black and white marbles, that needed holes to stand still on board.

Too bad marbles aren't as easy to play as flat stones, tss. first-goban_-_03.jpg first-goban_-_07.jpg first-goban_-_05.jpg first-goban_-_04.jpg first-goban_-_06.jpg first-goban_-_02.jpg first-goban_-_10.jpg first-goban_-_08.jpg first-goban_-_09.jpg first-goban_-_01.jpg
